July 30, 2010
People are always interested in hearing about what we do, and they generally ask us good, insightful questions about our business model, market, community, etc. Eventually, though, all conversations about Eleven Learning end up going in this direction:
“So, what’s up with the name? Did you guys really name your company after “Spinal Tap?”
The answer is…not exactly. But there’s no denying that the following did have some influence on our decision:
Because, really…that’s the goal: go to eleven. Dial the textbook industry up one more notch. Be unique. Do things differently when all the other blokes are stopped at 10. Go for it on a grand scale. Innovate. Be passionate and excited about giving profs and authors freedom, students low-cost books, and investors solid ROI.
That’s why we’re here. That’s why you’re here. That’s why we work together.
Why not make 10 louder?
Because these go to Eleven.
