New Books, New Offices, & Something For Our Trophy Case
October 8, 2010
October is shaping up to be an exciting month for Eleven Learning; we’ve got a lot of things in the works, and we’re building some great momentum. Here’s a quick run-down:
New Books and Adoptions
We published two new books this fall: the revision of David Lippman’s Math in Society, and Python for Informatics by Charles Severance. Both books were published under open-source licenses, and they have been adopted at Pierce College and the University of Michigan, respectively. (We’re in the process of collecting some really interesting usage data for the semester, and we’ll be talking about some of it in an upcoming post. Suffice to say, for the moment, that our model is matching up nicely with national trends.) Congratulations and many thanks to David and Chuck for their hard work!

New Office Space
As of October 1, Eleven Learning’s Worldwide Headquarters are now located at 359 Green Street in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The new digs are in Central Square and in close proximity to a number of influential start-ups, including Zynga, oneforty, TurningArt, Shareaholic, and the Boston branch of TechStars. (As with Oscar acceptance speeches, we apologize to all whom we forgot.) Here are a couple of pictures of the new space. If you’re in the area, please come visit!

New Recognition
In case you missed it, Mass High Tech named Eleven Learning one of their Five to Follow. Thanks to everyone who voted for us. (And if you voted for someone else, you are dead to us.)
New Features
We’re hard at work on some new community features and a very interesting publishing project that we hope will pave the way for some very exciting things in the near future. Details forthcoming, so please check back soon to get the scoop.
